South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) is once again introducing two summer bus services to make it even easier for people to enjoy local tourist attractions.
Service 150 will run from Sheffield Interchange and links communities with popular tourist attractions such as Sherwood Forest, Creswell Crags Visitor Centre, Dukeries Garden Centre and Rother Valley Country Park.
It will call at Beighton, Crystal Peaks, Westfield and Holbrook as well as the following villages - Killamarsh, Norwood, High Moor, Harthill, Barlborough, Clowne, Creswell, Cuckney and Budby.
Service 25 will run from Rotherham Interchange and will link Swallownest, Aston, Todwick, Kiveton Park, South Anston, Dinnington, Woodsetts and Worksop with Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest.
Both services begin operation on Sunday 18 May 2008 and will run each Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday until 14 September 2008. It is the fifth summer the services have been introduced by SYPTE and each year they have grown in popularity.
They have been introduced as part of SYPTE’s aim to encourage more people to use public transport in South Yorkshire and ensure rural villages have good public transport links.
David Brown, Director General at SYPTE, said: “The services open up opportunities for many people, especially those who do not have access to a car and would otherwise not be able to visit these attractions. We hope they are just as popular this year as in previous years."
