South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) would like to say ‘thank you’ to all staff and passengers who donated money for Children In Need last Friday - the grand total raised across South Yorkshire was £6,141.38.
Throughout the day a wide range of fund raising activities took place to raise money for the BBC charity including a 56 mile sponsored bike ride, stopping at all interchanges across the county.
And at Rotherham Interchange passengers were entertained by Customer Services Officer Dave Butcher who sang ‘Rod Stewart's greatest hits’.
Other activities included a coffee morning, an auction, raffles, bric-a-brac stalls, bucket collections, wearing pyjamas to work and a golf putting competition.
Roy Wicks, Director General at SYPTE said he was delighted with how much money had been raised this year.
He said: “As an organisation, we have been raising money for Children In Need since the year 2000 and every time we do it I am delighted at the response we receive from both staff and passengers.
“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone for their support and donations.”
