“Public transport in South Yorkshire has a crucial role to play in the economic development of the region, reducing congestion on our roads and improving the environment.
“Over the past decade we have seen major improvements to the transport infrastructure, such as new interchanges in our major towns and cities. Now the challenge for our new Director General is to take transport strategy to the next level and drive patronage growth.”
David said: “I am delighted to be taking up this appointment and am looking forward to the exciting challenge of improving public transport in South Yorkshire. “
