The Transport Executive is funding a new bus service the ‘Adwick Rail Link’ to help commuters get to and from Adwick Rail Station.
The 326 and 327 provide links from Adwick Village, Sutton, Norton, Campsall, Askern, and Woodlands to connect with trains to both Doncaster and Leeds from Adwick Rail Station.
There are three morning journeys available, arriving at Adwick Station between 0650 and 0758, with a further five departures in the afternoon between 1625 and 1825. The service does not operate on Saturdays and Sundays.
With a fare of only 50p on these services and no car parking problems they offer exceptional value for money and in addition all TravelMasters and Transport Executive concessionary passes are accepted. The service is operated by Wilfreda Beehive.
Steve Tinsley, Rural Travel Advisor speaking on behalf of the Travel South Yorkshire partnership, said: "Public transport links are vital in rural areas and for many people they are lifelines to help them get out and about. This is why we have integrated both rail and bus services - you can now step off the bus and straight on to a train and vice versa.
“The service will be monitored over the coming months to see if further improvements can be made and the Transport Executive welcomes any comments passengers have about it.”
If anyone has any comments they can contact Steve Tinsley, Rural Travel Advisor on 0114 221 1490.
Timetables are available from all Transport Executive Travel Information Centres or alternatively passengers can log onto the journey planner at travelsouthyorkshire.com or call Traveline on 01709 51 51 51.
The Transport Executive funds a wide range of bus services across South Yorkshire, which without financial support would not operate. Many of these services provide vital links to jobs and key facilities and are part of the Transport Executive's commitment to ensure all areas of the county are served by a good bus network.
