A new Park & Ride bus service has been introduced this week - running from the Park & Ride site at Millhouses (Tesco) into Sheffield city centre.
Service 85 will be operated by First and will complement the existing Tesco Park & Ride 505 service operated by TM Travel.
The Park & Ride site at Tesco offers customers free parking and is connected by regular buses running to and from Ecclesall Road into the city centre. It gives customers an attractive, safe environment to leave their vehicles and saves users the stress of negotiating traffic congestion and finding a parking space in the city centre.
Service 85 operates between 0715 and 2240 and runs half hourly through the day and hourly at evenings and on Sundays.
To make travelling even easier passengers can now also purchase two new Park & Ride tickets (a day ticket is £2.50 or a week ticket for £8.50). Tickets are valid on the 85 service only and can be purchased from the driver, when boarding at the Millhouses (Tesco) Park & Ride bus stop. Subsequently they can be used to or from any bus stop on the 85 section between Millhouses (Tesco) and the city centre/Ecclesall Road.
The ticketing improvements have been delivered through a partnership involving SYPTE, Sheffield City Council and First and will improve the availability of Park & Ride services from Abbeydale.
