Final call to shape city bus services

28 July 2015

TRANSPORT CHIEFS are urging passengers to have their say on proposals to improve the city’s bus network, as Sheffield Bus Partnership’s public consultation enters its final week.

Over 1,300 people have had their say in the consultation so far. Views are being sought on plans to optimise key routes into the city centre and improve access to employment and training sites until Friday 31 July.

People can take part online at travelsouthyorkshire.com/sbp and via paper feedback forms from customer service desks at Sheffield and Rotherham Interchanges. Information about the proposals is available online, in interchanges and in maps and posters on all First and Stagecoach buses.

Feedback will be used to inform bus service changes, which are expected to be implemented from 31 October 2015.

The proposals come as transport authorities progress the aims drawn in Sheffield City Region’s (SCR) Devolution Deal to improve local bus travel, by building on the success of the Sheffield Bus Partnership agreement.

Sheffield Bus Partnership is made up of Sheffield City Council (SCC), South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) and bus operators First South Yorkshire, Stagecoach in Sheffield and Sheffield Community Transport.
