Travel South Yorkshire is helping public transport users become more confident and independent by launching new searchable online maps to support them in planning their journeys around the region.
The new interactive maps are designed to help users understand the various public transport planning options available to them for their specific journey.
The Travel South Yorkshire website, travelsouthyorkshire.com, also offers various other innovative information and planning tools, including simple ‘how to use’ interactive videos and an easy-to-use journey planner, which are designed to enable passengers to find out how easy it is to use buses, trams and trains around South Yorkshire.
Through our new and improved mobile friendly version of the Travel South Yorkshire website, customers can access information from home or on the move including where and when to avoid disruptions; of any changes that might be implemented in the event of adverse weather, and generally make getting around by public transport even easier.
Designed to help customers find out everything they need to know about local public transport services, the online tools and information available mean you can:
- Access live disruption information by following @TravelSYorks on Twitter
- Sign up to have information about any changes to your bus service emailed directly to you
- Find out when your next bus will arrive at your stop using YourNextBus service either via a text service to your mobile phone or by receiving updates via the website
- Plan journeys with the new, searchable online maps
SYPTE Deputy Interim Director General, David Young, said: “We work hard to understand our customers’ requirements and best meet their transport needs. We know that some people find it daunting to make the initial shift from car to public transport, but by offering these online tools we are showing them just how easy it is to travel by bus, tram and train in South Yorkshire.”
