New Park & Ride for Doncaster at White Rose Way

09 January 2013

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, together with partners Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, developers Catesby and Stagecoach, is opening a new, third-party funded Park and Ride facility within easy reach of Doncaster town centre next week.

The new 250-space site opens on Monday 14 January next to the new Morrisons Superstore off White Rose Way. The parking is free; you just pay for your travel into town. There will be a frequent bus service, operated by Stagecoach, between the Park and Ride to the town centre and Frenchgate every 15 minutes between 7am and 7pm from Monday to Saturday.

New bus lanes will mean that journey times will be fast and reliable on new, low-floor buses. And as a special ‘hello’ to all new customers there will be an introductory fare of just £1 a day per person.

The launch is being promoted by an extensive advertising campaign on radio, posters and even on ATMs.

David Young, SYPTE Director of Customer Experience, said: "This excellent new facility is ideally placed for car commuters and shoppers coming into Doncaster, including those travelling from Scunthorpe, Worksop and Sheffield.

"It will also mean that customers won’t have the stress of having to find a parking space in the centre of town and they can travel into Doncaster in less than 15 minutes.

"We hope people will try the new facility and find just how quick and convenient it is."
