Cheaper travel for college students

05 September 2012

Students in South Yorkshire can get cheaper travel on bus, train and tram with Travel South Yorkshire’s 16-18 Student Pass.

The free pass gives students at college or sixth-form bus and tram travel in South Yorkshire for just 60p a journey, and half fare on Northern Rail train services in the county.

Students can apply for the 16-18 Student Pass through their school or college Student Services office if they:

• live in South Yorkshire
• are in full-time education
• are under 18 at the start of the academic year

For college or sixth-form students that need to travel a lot, the Student Term TravelMaster pass gives unlimited bus, train and tram travel in South Yorkshire, Killamarsh and Spinkhill, for just £165.50 a term – less than £2 a day.

TravelMaster also offers a range of discounted bus, tram and rail tickets for those under 21. Application forms can be picked up from any Travel South Yorkshire Information Centre.
