Revellers will be all aboard the Beer Bus next week as celebrations get under way for the twentieth annual Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival.
The real ale festival takes place at Magna from Wednesday 29 February to Saturday 3 March, and showcases more than 200 traditional ales on tap from all over the UK and beyond.
And festival-goers needn’t worry about getting there and back as transport bosses have laid on a special ‘beer bus’ - the BF1 - to get them to and from the event.
Passengers can find out the times of the buses by visiting the online journey planning tools attravelsouthyorkshire.com. The BF1 beer bus departs from stand C1 in Rotherham and D3 in Meadowhall.
The BF1 will run throughout the festival from early evening until after last orders between Rotherham Interchange and Meadowhall Interchange, stopping off outside Magna on the way. And at only £2 return it will leave plenty of cash to spend at the festival.
David Young, South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive Director of Customer Experience, said: "We are delighted to be able to work with organisers on South Yorkshire’s twentieth Real Ale and Music Festival.
"The dedicated bus service from Rotherham and Meadowhall is a real incentive for people to get to the festival easily and cheaply. We hope that the facility encourages them to consider public transport as a viable option for other journeys."
Steve Burns, festival organiser, said: "This is an ideal way to travel to and from the festival, and is an ideal way to get into the habit of using public transport. SYPTE’s journey planner will help you with connecting routes and signs at Meadowhall and Rotherham will then direct you to this dedicated service."
