South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive
South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) is responsible for the co-ordination of public transport in South Yorkshire. Our role is to encourage the maximum use of public transport and to promote growth of the public transport network. We work closely with transport service operators, local councils and other key stakeholders to develop the network and services across the county. Sheffield City Region Combined Authority
SYPTE is accountable to Sheffield City Region Combined Authority, which is made up of nominated elected members from the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, North East Derbyshire, Derbyshire Dales, Bolsover, Bassetlaw and Chesterfield.
Travel South Yorkshire
SYPTE is a member of the Travel South Yorkshire partnership that represents the organisations and operators that work together to provide public transport, walking and cycling products and services throughout South Yorkshire.

Stephen Edwards (SYPTE Executive Director)

Steve joined SYPTE in November 2015 following a successful career at Liberata UK Ltd. He has a wealth of experience in both the public and private sector, having worked in a range of service areas including business improvement, customer experience and service operations. Steve led the development of Liberata's shared service operations for both customer service and back office functions and most recently led the operational delivery for the CapacityGrid suite of services.
Prior to joining Liberata, Steve spent over 20 years at BT, working with a wide range of multinational clients from the oil, petrochemical and utilities markets. Steve has a degree in electronic engineering from the University of Kent and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
